Breaking news; England football manager Sam Allardyce sacked

The report reaching us is that the manager of England senior football team had been sacked following a leak from The Telegraph Newspaper.

According to Onefootball, Sam Allardyce has been sacked as England manager after an investigation by The Telegraph newspaper, which showed him using his position as national team coach to negotiate a £400,000 deal and giving advice on how to circumvent FA rules on player transfers.

Allardyce, who only succeeded Roy Hodgson as England manager on 22 July this year, was summoned to FA offices at Wembley this afternoon, as criticism of the revelations grew.

The investigation, which began over 10 months ago, was led by Telegraph reporters posing as businessmen. Allardyce was secretly filmed telling them it was “not a problem” to bypass “ridiculous” FA rules on third-party players.

The regulations were introduced by the FA in 2008 to prevent players being owned by companies, who could decide when to sell them without the involvement of the club. “You can still get around it,” he told the undercover reporters.”I mean obviously the big money’s here.”

Third-party ownership of footballers is banned by both the FA and FIFA, who have sought to prevent private firms profiting from the sale of players on the transfer market.

The 61-year-old manager was also filmed negotiating a £400k deal which would involve him flying to the Far East four times a year to speak to investors at a firm that wanted to buy footballers. Allardyce is paid over £3m a year, plus bonuses, by the FA to manage the England team.

Allardyce was in charge for just one match, a 1-0 win over Slovakia earlier this month.
